Greg is out on a detachment AGAIN, and Lily and I are just sitting around staring at each other. Actually, she's mostly screaming and I'm trying not to pull my hair out. Even though teeth are so cute when they pop out, they are not worth the screaming and crying in getting there. Who needs teeth anyway? Not babies for one.... they can gum it.

better late than never

Well, here are a few pictures form a few weeks ago when we visited Parker, Erin and Jake. WE had so much fun! Lily and Parker got to share the piano and he made her laugh when he talked to himself in the mirror.

In addition, a few more pictures from last weeks thanksgiving when Mimi and Grandaddy came to visit.

in san francisco

The Capra Clown Car minus auntie Sarah headed out to San Francisco last weekend and visited Hilary. We walked for almost 7 miles to the beach and back, saw a cool hippie bus, went to the Bay Bridge and hiked around town. Bean stayed warm bundled up in her oompa-loompa outfit.

Missing Bean alert.  If you have seen this lion cub in the company of a magician, a sheriff, or a suspicious seargant, please return me to my parents. --Love, Lily Capra

My parents will regret this one day

Prom Night

Mommy and daddy had their big kids Prom last weekend.  They left me all at home alone... with Auntie Sarah.  Leann even got a sunflower corsage.   As you can see my parents are super cool and don't allow alcohol to guide any of their decisions...

Daddy comes back from his much needed vacation...

Well, daddy needed to get away for a couple weeks so he chose to go flying in Key West.  His life is very stressful, per usual.  He of course missed the girls in his life, who wouldn't? But alas he had to come home and has earned night duty to change Lily's diapers and put her to sleep.

Vegas vegas vegas

Ahhh Vegas....livin' the pool life. Drinkin' bottles and passin' out. On Sept 1st the Capraclowncar set up tent in Las Vegas to visit Mimi and Grandaddy. We visited all the casinos, experienced the unbelievable Cirque show Ka, suffered through hot yoga, watched Lily roll over from back to front for the first time, and lounged everyday by the pool. After 8 days of non-stop funfilled clowndemonium, we are finally back in Fresno. Gearing up again for our next trip to San Francisco for Sarah's birthday. Oh and Greg turned 32 years old on the 8th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!

Friday, July 11, 2008

Hi all,
Well 4th of July has come and gone and along that note, so has the Soos/Dauphanais family reunion. It was alot of fun and it was nice to be reunited with my mom's side of the family. Greg and Lily finally got to meet everyone. Probably 30 or more people came. We had a baby shower for my cousin Jenn, a great grandmother's cake for Grammie and a birthday cake for Rigel, Jenn's other half. We went swimming, played scrabble, did karaoke and as the spirits were ingested took part in "general social lubrication". At the end of the weekend, Greg and I are exhausted.
Auntie Sarah moved in too! So now there are four of us in the house. She helps watch Lily and keeps me company. This weekend we are headed up to visit our friends Anthony and Erika who are expecting in October. Until next time...

Weekend surprise...

This week was full of lots of surprises for the clowncar. To start with Greg actually had to legitimately work for the first time since September. Yes, he saw his first patients in over 9 months. Apparently, the tax payers demand their investment does what he's paid for, however, it wasn't all work and no play. Greg had his first flight in the F-18 Hornet on a bombing mission down in El Centro, CA. He has officially received his certification as 165 lbs of self-loading backage.

Another surprise were the visitors we had in town. Cousins, Dave and Jen, came to town and met Lily for the first time. She didn't give them the full welcome ceremony as they both left the visit without having been thrown-up on.

A new schedule

Lily is on a new schedule now (mid-day napping) which makes for a very happy baby. After weeks of inconsistency, its nice for her to finally get a routine down and she has stopped being so fussy during the day. Wouldn't it be nice to take a nap every 3 hours?

Peek-a-boo

Lily has a new game she plays with Greg.
He puts a towel over her face and says "peek-a-boo" and she laughs and wonders why her parents are such dorks.

TROOOOPS!!!!

Auntie Jane and Uncle Brian recently were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, respectively. Lily was lucky enough to see them both just a day after her discharge from the hospital. She said that she enjoyed the experience very much and she can't wait to see them in 15 months.

Going back to Cali....

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our family page! We will be updating it regularly with photos and messages so that everyone can keep track of what the Capra's are up to. After four long weeks of non-stop action, we finally made it to Fresno California. To recap the fun:
1. May 20th: Lily Madeleine Capra was born at the Pensacola Naval Hospital
2. May 29th: Greg graduated from Flight Surgery Training and received his wings.
3. May 31: The Capraclowncar departed Pensacola, Florida heading West beginning the harrowing cross country trip with a newborn and a bunny rabbit.
4. June 2nd: Stopped in San Antonio to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma Timmy
5. June 3rd: Stopped in Fort Stockton and Lily and Leann both got sick
6. June 4th: El Paso, Texas. Fort Bliss Army Hospital. Lily gets her finger fixed in pediatrics.
7. June 6th: Las Vegas. Visiting Mimi and Papa Bear for the first time.
8. June 8th: Fresno. Visiting Aunt Debbie while we wait for the movers to arrive with our belongings.
So after a long week in the car with many ups and downs we are finally here. We are currently unpacking everything and trying to fit it into our new place. taking care of Lily has become a challenge. She is now 10+ pounds and has discovered that screaming usually results in getting her way. But she's also enjoying herself. She plays under her jungle mat and loves her vibrating chair. She loves baths and definitely loves her daddy. We are looking forward to the big 4th of July family reunion at Leann's Aunt's house where the quirky side will re-unite. Until next time......
